The world

  ***

Description:

Through experiencing the world, we can receive a glimpse of the Revelation

You had dialogue with אברהם;
You had dialogue with יעקוב;
You had dialogue with משׁה רבינו;
You had dialogue with דוד המלך;
All of which grew into the dictum of the צדיק, the pure soul.
But that is not Your Purpose –
of that I am (almost) sure –
to produce a race of pure souls,
for have you not surrounded by an abundance of such purity in Heaven?
But for this experience,
this creation
to be passionately explored,
with humility and gratitude,
in order to Understand it.

The only way to fulfil that, is to be Fully Realised1
an arduous, path.
It seems to come as a calling, and lasts a lifetime.

You Created this for Your Purpose,
through Your Will and Desire.
We are the recipients of Your Influx,
and by our responding, become transmitters.
The connection is “full” when filled by that which we transmit in return2—completing the cycle.

What you focus on grows.

Your reaction is transmitted into your surroundings,
just like your breath removes stuff from your body,
and inserts it into the air surrounding you.
And Your surroundings,
being reactive, responds to whatever you transmit to it.

I can see now the ebb and flow of the duality –
Though I cannot yet see the totality,
I can envisage the ocean of desire
in which we are ensconced,
but I cannot yet be that desire.

My ask, my prayer,
Nay, my offer is
That I may be Your Oved,
For You are my Father,
Who Art in Heaven –
All seeing, All Knowing.
Who showers His children
With His Infinite Love
Every moment of
Our Lives.
Amen. Amen.

The Path of the Superior Man

The concept of the superior man that we in the West are most familiar with, is that of the Übermensch found in German philosophy based mainly on Nietzsche’s writing. as the main proponent I am aware of.  It represents an individual who transcends traditional morality and societal norms to create their own values, driven by their own will to power.

In almost all other philosophies, the concept of the Superior Man is one who epitomises the finest, most idealistic, form of said culture. In Chinese philosophy, it is found in the I-Ching, based on the Confucian, and Taoist, philosophies, whereas in the Jewish philosophy, the Superior Man is the RIghteous one, the Tzaddik, and in Christianity, the Saint, as it would be in Islam too, I believe. The aspect I want to emphasise is the need for a moral imperative that provides the foundation that forms his or her actions, and not about freeing oneself from any sort of consensual moral imperative.

The 4 levels of existence

I am referring to the four levels: Assiyah, Yetzirah, Beriah & Atzilut. In focusing on it, I realise that that it is the very action of becoming conscious of and thus having an awareness & thus able to have a relationship with all four worlds of existence. Two mappings: one the Hod mapping, the other the Netzach one. The Hod one: refers to the individual mapping of the the Tree of Knowledge—the Adam template. It too expresses all 4 worlds within it. The Netzach one—referred to as Jacob’s Ladder—speaks to 4 levels of Tree of Life, each one of which is an expression of the Reality that they are of. That each contain a Tree underlies the Truth that there is only One Will, and not many (G-d forbid!). It is like trying to express a fractal from within the fractal itself. It is the same pattern, just from a different “perspective” that, in this case, is not only a perspective, but a reality indeed.

Footnotes

  1. To be Fully Realised—also known as The Path of the Superior Man—would be someone who was able to receive—and transmit—on all 4 levels of existence. ↩︎

  2. One could thing of it as half-duplex – where the information only moves from one direction to another – or full-duplex – where there is a call and a response that can occur together on the circuit, completing the “cycle”. ↩︎
